At HTP, we developed a process that is built to guide each project from conception to opening night– with clarity, creativity, and technical excellence. Through every phase—discovery to delivery—we ensure a seamless process rooted in conscious artistry and tour-tested execution.

The HTP Design Process

This is where we begin—together. We ask the right questions:

  • Who is the artist, and how do they want their art to be experienced? 

  • What kind of world are we building for the audience?

  • What are the functional needs and focus of the design?

Whether you come with a vision or hand us the reins, we work collaboratively to define a strong concept that honors the artistry and aligns with real-world logistics.

Once we have the vision, we start to work within the framework of the budget and tour logistics.

  • We assess tech specs for the tour– what are the logistical and technical realities of the routing and venues?

  • We analyze different equipment and rig configurations, scaling the design to preserve the integrity of the show across the tour.

  • We work with a network of trusted vendors– leveraging long-standing relationships for the best proposals for our clients.

Next, we visualize—literally.

  • You decide the direction.

  • We present two strong visual concepts based on our design conversations to ensure creative alignment before programming.

  • We render a three-dimensional model of the rig with up to six still images or short transition videos for final approval.

Tech Prep & Rehearsals

Before we hit the stage, we build the system.

  • Load in, gear prep, patching, rigging, and system testing.

  • Design is fine tuned as we collaborate with the artist during rehearsals. 

  • Cueing and show flow are honed for consistency and ease on the road. 

 
We make sure everything is show-ready before the trucks roll.
